Neighborhood

Marin County contains a plethora of diverse, eclectic, and suburban neighborhoods to choose from. It might be a good idea to consider the type of environment you want to live in before making your big move. San Rafael is an upscale community known for its Victorian architecture, while San Anselmo has a much more down-to-earth vibe.

Kentfield has multiple stunning hiking trails that are perfect for outdoorsy families, while Larkspur is known for its friendliness and cheerful shop-lined streets. There are plenty of amazing places to live in Marin County; you just have to find the one that fits you and your needs best.

Weather

On most days, the weather in Marin County is gorgeous. As most Californians know, it tends to feel like summer year-round. However, Marin County also has micro-climates, so sometimes it can be extraordinarily humid in one area while in another it may be chilly, or even foggy.

It’s a good idea to be aware of this before you move so you can ensure you have the right items in your wardrobe to keep you comfortable no matter what the weather throws at you.

Commuting

One of the greatest things about living in Marin County is the easy commute. The buses are easier to navigate than in the Greater San Francisco Area and they tend to be less crowded.

Even if you have to ferry between Marin County and San Francisco, you can enjoy the breeze with a cocktail in hand, which is just one of its many charms. Plus, it’s never a bad idea to do some planning to find the most convenient path to the office.

Mountain Biking

Not everyone knows that Marin County is famous for its mountain biking scene. If you don't already have a nice bicycle fit for the trails, you might want to consider investing in one before you move.

Marin is regarded as the birthplace of mountain biking, which means the sport is taken very seriously in the area. That said, mountain bikes are not allowed on every trail, so be sure you check any restrictions before setting out.

If you are intent on mountain biking, check out Camp Tamarancho. Even if you aren't the competitive type, you can take advantage of the numerous bike trails to enjoy the gorgeous weather on your days off.

Embrace The Culture
